After a lifetime of animal experience with his father Don - a stock and station agent - Dr Duncan celebrates 36 years as a vet in 2022. Married to Maria since 1990, together they share life with their 4 children, 'Sadie' their Border Collie cross, Cattle dog cross ‘Neville’ and a cat named 'Ziva'. Duncan loves life in Dubbo, its people and their pets including dogs, cats, pocket pets, poultry, birds and reptiles. Has been an avid supporter of WIRES and their wildlife rescue work and enjoys all medical and surgical cases including avian medicine, diagnostic imaging and opthalmology. Personal interests include running and swimming. He is a self-confessed rugby tragic and optimist and still expects the Wallabies to beat the All Blacks on every occasion not once every decade! Em is a Queenslander, growing up amongst cattle, horses, dogs and cats on a property near Charters Towers. She graduated from University of Qld in 2011 and started her veterinary career in mixed practice in St George, Qld. In 2014, she moved on to the locum circuit, including time at clinics in Mudgee and Orange, where she first started acclimatising to NSW winters.
Em then set off to South America for a backpacking adventure, before returning to North Queensland in 2016 to the JCU Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Townsville, where she worked for two years as an emergency and critical care veterinarian. In 2019, Em moved back to the central west, spending her time between Orange, Dubbo, Warren and Cobar.
Em found her place in the DMVS team in 2022. Her professional areas of interest include complex medical/emergency cases, anaesthesia, soft tissue surgery, senior pet care & mentoring young vets. As a vet, Em is most fulfilled by understanding her patient’s unique needs, and working with clients and team members to solve challenging cases.
Em also works with her partner Tim in their sheep consultancy business ‘For Flocks Sake’. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with Tim, family and friends & indulging fur-babies Andy (kelpie), Rommel (Jack Russel), and George ‘The Red Mist’ (cattle dog). She loves animals, healthy food, black coffee, being in nature & exercising (particularly trail running and netball).
Emily is currently on maternity leave.

We welcomed Emily as a vet nurse trainee in 2012. A country girl to the bone, Emily’s rural background has given her the great experience of being around lots of animals. Her home is truly a pet’s paradise with eleven dogs, a cat and 3 poddy lambs. With a dedicated approach, Emily has been a great addition to the clinic. Away from work, she enjoys working with her Dad on their 3000 acre cropping and livestock property and helping out with activities at her church where she has volunteered as a youth leader.
